"30s-40s Fake Book" Upgraded Pages

Individual pages in both versions will be revised as we find errors, better sources, or get an idea that makes a sheet easier to read, or work better.  Lyrics were added to some tunes. Verses were added to some tunes, replacing lyrics--the lyric sheets were revised to include the new verses. Before replacing a page, consider whether the change is one you want. Usually it's choosing between a new verse or keeping the page with chorus lyrics? The answer also depends on how you use the book. If you use it mainly for "standards" gigs, probably best keep the lyrics. But if you particularly like the early 30s foxtrots, try the verses out--usually I added them to standard tunes when they have substantial musical value. I didn't add the verses to most Gershwin standards; the tunes we know and love were composed as 2-beat show tunes, but most came to be played as pretty 4/4 ballads that stand alone without the verses, most of which don't convert well to "dreamy".

I corrected small errors and touched up some sheets as I went along when doing the Bb edition, and changed the C sheets at the same time. I didn't keep track of the sheets with purely cosmetic changes.

.pdf files of upgraded pages are available free of charge to book owners, and will be sent, attached to eMails, on request.

Punching the pages:  make sure the shop can adjust their punching machines so that the distance between the edge of the page and the hole is the same as my pages (3/32" or 7/64 )
